Henri Honoré Giraud (18 January 1879 – 11 March 1949) was a French general who fought in World War I and World War II. Captured in both wars, he escaped each time. After his second escape in 1942, he joined the Free French Forces, and participated, to various degrees, with the Allied invasion of North Africa and its subsequent events. Contents
