A. what "useless qualifications" are you referring to? are you speaking of classes or personal hygiene? if your hygiene becomes a nuisance or a cause for concern then it is understandable that it would be brought to your attention.

cornrows on "white-girl" hair?
Q. Next month, I'm going to a HOT country where I basically won't be able to wash my hair for 3 months. I have extremely thick hair. Due to the heat AND the fact I won't really be able to wash it, I'm considering getting my hair braided into cornrows and leaving it for 3 months. Does anyone know how this will affect my hair in the long-run? (Severe breakage... hair falling out... braids staying in... etc.)

How can I make a "Fraulein" headband by french braiding my hair across my head?
Q. What is that even called? Girls wear their hair this way in Sweden, Austria, Switzerland and Germany when they wear the traditional dress. The sometimes weave flowers into the braid too.

A. Hello there, well...from my professional opinion & I'm a licensed cosmetologist...I've always referred to it as a "crown braid", the actual technique of braiding is almost like that of a french braid expect obviously in a different area on your head. The crown braid is unique in that you only incorporate hair from one side to do the braid, like with a french braid you'll start off the braid with your "3" strands and then rotate from left to right bringing in hair from each side, with the crown braid, you only use hair from the front section (the hair surrounding your facial area) only one side of the hair is used. Practice makes perfect, you may need someone else to "practice" this until you'd get the hand… [cont.]

Do I have to be licensed/certified in "Hair" to run a business for Beauty Supplies in Ontario?
Q. I want to start a business and run a Beauty Supply Store in Ontario but I want to know if I have to be Goverment Certified or Licensed in Hair to actually run the business?

A. No. If you are selling to the " hair and beauty trade " who are in turn using the products in their shop, or selling them to their customers, you don't "need to be a hair stylist " or " barber ". yourself. That would be like requiring a person who sells auto parts to be a auto mechanic...Not required. What you will "need " is to have good contacts in the wholesale supplier end of the business. You need to be able to buy your inventory at lower prices than the shop owners can get it for. Otherwise why should they buy from you ? Here is a tip...Offer delivery to the shops. Why ? People are lazy and if they know that your driver will deliver the order, next day, to the shop, they won't bother going to a… [cont.]

If Pantene is so "bad" for your hair, why is it constantly winning awards in beauty magazines?
Q. I was just wondering this. A lot of people say that it put a coat of wax on your hair and that its really bad for it but im always seeing rave reviews about it. im confused.
Asked by - Sun Dec 4 20:51:31 2011 - Hair - 4 Answers - Comments
A. Because Pantene is owned by Procter & Gamble, a huge company with billions of dollars. When you have billions of dollars, you can pretty much buy any award you want (or at least bribe beauty editors to "vote" for you or write good things about you). By the way, I spent 2 years as a Beauty Editor for a major publication, and I can assure you all of those "awards" are fixed.

You see when someone is doing cornrows in your hair does it hurt when they are braiding your hair in cornrows?
Q. I got black afro hair that is atleast 2inchs(5cms) i was just wounding when someone cornrows your does it hurt a lot or not
Asked by Peter_HF - Thu Aug 2 04:18:11 2007 - Hair - 4 Answers - Comments
A. It hurt because the braider it grasping the hair while braiding. Sometimes when they are through the braids are really tight. . Just take a few aspirins prior in getting your hair braided. The braids loosen up but it is not a painful process.
